Artifact Donations:

The Glace Bay Heritage Museum collects artifacts that relate to the history, culture, and people of Glace Bay and surrounding areas. The museum relies primarily on individual donations from private citizens. Although we appreciate all inquiries, not everything can be collected. Storing, conserving and exhibiting collections is costly and requires considerable investment. It is important that only those artifacts that can be used for display, education and study are collected. For this reason the museum often decides not to accept items that are offered. To ensure that the right things are collected, a ‘collecting policy’ has been prepared that gives guidance to curatorial staff as to what should be collected and what should not.
